Penarth to Barry
The Penarth to Barry swim is a favourite of ours! A solid 10-12k (depending on how straight you swim) from the RNLI slip at Penarth beachfront next to the iconic Penarth Pier, to the famous Barry Island, aka Whitmore bay.
The swim takes you around the treacherous Lavernock point and past the beautiful Sully island, while utilising the huge tidal currents to assist your swim. This swim can have many different conditions from section to section depending on the wind direction, from the calm waters of Ranie Bay on a westerly wind, into the choppy waters of Mordor once you round the headland past Lavernock point.
It never disappoints.
